Drawing design cues from the hugely successful H+Son Archetype rim, The Hydra is a lighter, wider, disc specific rim.
Crafted from G609 alloy, the Hydra weighs in at only 440 grams and promises to build up to produce an incredibly light and strong wheel. The newer 25mm width is optimised for the fitment of up to 35c tyres - providing a more comfortable, dependable ride.
Hubs
EC Wheels Bitex hubs are competitively light, feature good size TPI bearings and good quality seals to keep the weather at bay.
The freehub features 6 Pawls working in teams of three against 48 engagement points, given you near instant pickup. The lightweight 7075 alloy freehub features anti bite strips to make sure the cassette does not bite into the splines of the freehub body.
Spokes
We use Sapim's stainless steel double butted 'Race' spokes mainly for the astonishingly consistent quality of the stainless steel wire that they use to manufacture their spokes, as of yet we have not had a single spoke break on these wheels through normal usage.
